Summer vacation is nearly here and we’re getting closer and closer to our move to the Bay Campus! Have you been wondering how we’re going to move all those books to the new site? So have we! We’ve been making lots of plans and preparations to make sure that School of Management and College of Engineering students will have what they need on the shelves by September when the Bay Library opens. Don’t worry if you’ve got exams to resit this summer – the books will be available on the shelves at the LIC in Singleton until the resits are over. We’ll be taking a week at the end of August to move the books. You won’t be able to borrow items while we transfer them from one site to another, but we’d be very grateful if you could borrow as much as you’d like up until then as it will save us packing them up!
We’ll keep you updated over the next few months as plans develop. Why not sign up to follow our blog so you don’t miss any news? You can also find the latest information on our Bay Library webpages and view photos of the new campus on Flickr. If you have any questions about the move (or anything else!), please get in touch through email@example.com.
In the meantime, if you’re wondering how you’d go about moving thousands of books from one place to another, take a look at this speeded up video of Foyles bookshop moving to their new site in 2014. Looks easy! (Thanks to CILIP and The Scholarly Kitchen for drawing our attention to this video!)
