The Library and Information Centre @ Singleton Park and the Bay Library will be open 24 hours over the holidays.

If you are at home for the holidays and would like to use the library of your local university, you can join the SCONUL Access scheme or any of the other borrowing schemes that exist.  You can find more information on our Visitors’ Information page.

You can also access a vast array of information over the web – use your Swansea University username and password which are your full Swansea University email address and password.

E-Books

We have an ever-increasing collection of e-books which can be found via iFind Discover, the library catalogue. Search on a general term (e.g. marketing, nursing etc.) and then apply the Format options for “On-line” and “Book” listed on the left-hand side of the screen.

Journal Articles

To search for a specific journal article, use iFind Research and enter the surname of the author and a few words from the title of the article (not the title of the journal) in the box on the bottom right  “Something from a Reading List or Bibliography”.

To look for journal articles on a topic, use iFind Research and select your subject area from the left hand list and then enter some search terms. A “Full Text” button will appear beside those results where you can access the full text article.

Other E-Resources

iFind Research also has information on other e-resources available to you such as newspaper databases.  You will find information about theses on our library website.

I chwilio am erthygl benodol mewn cylchgrawn, defnyddiwch iFind Research a rhowch gyfenw’r awdur ac ychydig o eiriau o deitl yr erthygl (nid teitl y cylchgrawn) yn y blwch ar waelod y dudalen ar y dde  “Something from a Reading List or Bibliography”.

I chwilio am erthyglau mewn cylchgronau ar destun penodol, defnyddiwch iFind Research a dewiswch eich maes pwnc o’r chwith ac yna rhowch rhai termau chwilio i mewn. Bydd botwm “Full Text” yn ymddangos wrth ochr y canlyniadau hynny lle y gallwch gyrchu’r erthygl destun lawn.

E-adnoddau Eraill

Mae gan iFind Research wybodaeth hefyd am e-adnoddau eraill sydd ar gael i chi megis cronfeydd data papurau newydd.  Byddwch yn gallu dod o hyd i wybodaeth am thesisau ar wefan y llyfrgell.

If you need to borrow any library materials for the holidays, vacation borrowing has already started and most items will now be due back on Wednesday 25th April.

 

If you are in Swansea over the vacation, the opening hours are on our website. Please note we are open for self-service only over the Easter weekend (6th-9th April) from 8am to 4pm. If you are going home and would like to use the library of your local university, ask at the Issue Desk here before you leave about the SCONUL Access scheme or any of the other reciprocal borrowing schemes that exist.

 

You can also access a vast array of information over the web – for this you will need to set the Athens cookie on the computer you are using, then use your Swansea University Athens username and password which are your full Swansea University email address and password. Information on Athens can be found on the library website.


E-Books
