Do you need some help with your study skills and time management? There’s an app for that!

You probably use apps every day to stay in touch with friends, catch up on TV and listen to music, but have you ever thought about how different apps can help you with your studies? DnA has compiled a list of free resources that may be helpful for students. You can browse the whole list or click on a tag to find help in a particular area. For example, you can find out how apps like Evernote and Google Keep can help with your research or find tools to help you with your referencing (REMEMBER you must check which referencing style you should use for your assignment and use the library guides to make sure you format your references correctly!).

Take a look at the selection to find out if you can make your life easier. If you prefer, you can download DnA’s App Guide as a PDF.

ISS Library Services has trial access to a nifty little iPad app, BrowZine, that allows you to create a bookshelf of your favourite journals from amongst our library holdings.

You can also hold copies of articles from those journals that you want to read in your “Saved Articles”.

We need your feedback so please give it a go:

  • From your iPad, find BrowZine in the App Store, download and install it
  • When you open BrowZine for the first time, you will see a list of schools, please select “Swansea University”
  • Enter your ATHENS username and password; these will be the same credentials you use to authenticate with your proxy
  • Select the subject areas and start browsing!

The app is free for you to download.  Currently it is only available for iPad, but Android and iPhone  apps are in development.

NOT all of our journals are available at present on this. We are the first in the UK to trial the app which  comes from the US.

Please let us have your feedback:  c.boucher@swansea.ac.uk
